Open Source Licenses

LAST UPDATED 29 AUGUST 2026

Go Tap Talk is built on open source software. This page lists the third-party components we use, their licenses, and where the full license texts can be found.

The Go Tap Talk web app and server run on no third-party code libraries. The server uses only the modules built into Node.js itself. The desktop app is the only part of Go Tap Talk that redistributes open source software.

Desktop application

The Windows, macOS and Linux desktop apps are built with Electron, which bundles the Chromium browser engine and the Node.js runtime.

ComponentLicenseProject
Electron MIT electron/electron
Chromium BSD-3-Clause
and others

Node.js MIT nodejs/node

Full license texts

Complete license texts are installed alongside the application. After installing Go Tap Talk you will find them in the installation folder:

On Windows the default location is C:\Program Files\Go Tap Talk\.

Typefaces

The interface uses these typefaces, served by Google Fonts. They are loaded by your browser directly from Google and are not redistributed by us. All are published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Build tools

Our installers are produced with electron-builder (MIT) and its dependencies. These tools run only on our build machine. No part of them is included in the software you receive, so they carry no license obligation to you — they are listed here for transparency.

Third-party services

Go Tap Talk connects to these services. They are hosted services rather than open source components, and are governed by their own terms rather than by a software license:

How we handle your data with these services is described in our Privacy Policy.
